In the 4th play minute Chico de Sousa came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Diogo Velloso. 1-0. 7 minutes into the match, Durval de Queirós dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Diogo Velloso, 2-0. Chico de Sousa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 10thth minute, Diogo Velloso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Xu Li Sang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Diogo Velloso made a huge save. 16 minutes into the match, Xu Li Sang dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Diogo Velloso, 3-0. 20 minutes into the match, Chelsicha's goalkeeper Diogo Velloso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marco van Basten. Chelsicha's Diogo Velloso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Chelsicha from getting a goal against them. Jovens Democratas MZC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dobromir Zagrodny in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vágner Valadares in the 27th minute of play forced Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Dalmo Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute Chico de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diogo Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chico de Sousa got free with Diogo Velloso in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 32 minutes, Ediberto Munhoz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chelsicha and the Jovens Democratas MZC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Diogo Velloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Xu Li Sang kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antônio Carlos Melo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Chico de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diogo Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diogo Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serginho Sabóia in the 96th minute of the match. André Luiz Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Diogo Velloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
