The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute of the match Playa Malvín got a corner. Agua Santa's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Oroitz Vivas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Frank Rosa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 6th minute. Agua Santa's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Tomé Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Marchand in the 9th minute of the match. Tomé Mota didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leon Marchand went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eugênio Monteiro during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Playa Malvín getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Adriano Gallinal hit a great ball. Eugênio Monteiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pablo-Enrique Oribe. Playa Malvín's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Agua Santa's Tomé Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Marchand in the 21st minute of play. Frank Rosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pablo-Enrique Oribe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Playa Malvín's Furtado Rionda quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Fábio Lopez, made in the 28th minute of the game. After 28 played minutes Agua Santa got a freekick which was hit by Oséas Trigo. In the 31st minute, Agua Santa's Frank Rosa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pablo-Enrique Oribe. Pablo-Enrique Oribe yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Oroitz Vivas might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tomé Mota. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oroitz Vivas ran back to his position shaking his head. 40 minutes into the match, Agua Santa's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Marchand came free, but Tomé Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 47 minutes into the game, Leon Marchand cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Tomé Mota was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Rosa to make the kick off. If Presebal Armida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Enrique Abreu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pablo-Enrique Oribe was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Playa Malvín's Furtado Rionda got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Enrique Abreu struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Pablo-Enrique Oribe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Agua Santa. Playa Malvín's Froylan Tomas was substituted for Oroitz Vivas. After 75 played minutes Agua Santa got a freekick which was hit by Jânio Arantes. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leon Marchand got free with Tomé Mota in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pablo-Enrique Oribe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Abreu in the 77th minute of play. 81 minutes into the game, Eugênio Monteiro threw the ball into play from the sideline. Playa Malvín's Froylan Tomas quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. A collision led to Agua Santa getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Eugênio Monteiro hit a great ball. During the 96th minute of the match Eugênio Monteiro completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Eugênio Monteiro a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game.
