Olavs Eliass might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fraco Sara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Olavs Eliass ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Iecēni's Genaro Ponciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eustaquio Laboy in the 18th minute of play. When Olavs Eliass came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the FC Iecēni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olavs Eliass couldn't finish the play. The FC Iecēni fans' excitement grew in the 41st match minute when FC Iecēni's Olavs Eliass looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Fraco Sara was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pujpuco's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
