Formentera's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Silver Play 2 the free kick. Silver Play 2 made a substitution. Flavio Iraunkor replaced Julian Abalos. The crowd rose to their feet as Formentera's Wilfredo Benvide slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tomás Lucila. That made the score 1-0 after 38 minutes of play. Tomás Lucila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Benvide in the 44th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Damazy Boruta to make the kick off.
