Cristobal Lia scored 0-1 in the 2nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aurelio Walme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's zone, Cristobal Lia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Walme came out of the goal and Cristobal Lia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Prospero Perico came free, but Aurelio Walme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aurelio Walme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristobal Lia in the 15th minute of the match. A collision led to Lobos de Carelia getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Horacio Oliverios hit a great ball. In the 16th match minute, Lobos de Carelia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horacio Oliverios to maneuver through the defense. Nestor Cortez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lei Feng Yan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lei Feng Yan got free with Nestor Cortez in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Cristobal Lia came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Lobos de Carelia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristobal Lia couldn't finish the play. After 23 played minutes Lobos de Carelia got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Jimenez. Aurelio Walme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prospero Perico, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After 28 minutes, Cristobal Lia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lobos de Carelia and the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 28th minute, Cristobal Lia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute Prospero Perico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Walme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nestor Cortez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breno Vergílio, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovani Medeiros in the 45th minute of play forced Lobos de Carelia's goalkeeper Nestor Cortez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Lobos de Carelia defense, Daniel Owsiak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nestor Cortez. The Lobos de Carelia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nestor Cortez should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

59 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Cristobal Lia came free, but Aurelio Walme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Breno Vergílio in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nestor Cortez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Lobos de Carelia getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Lucas Jimenez hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Lobos de Carelia's Lucas Jimenez got a free kick in the 66th minute. 67 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Lei Feng Yan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 69th minute, Breno Vergílio made a precise shot to the right of Nestor Cortez. Lobos de Carelia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Aurelio Walme was a little too slow when Cristobal Lia got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 3-2. Lobos de Carelia made a substitution. Pavao Zadro replaced Cristobal Lia. Nestor Cortez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovani Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Geovani Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nestor Cortez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breno Vergílio in the 94th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul had won after a very even match.
