The score was now 1-0. 22 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Owsiak came free, but Rodriguinho Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Deilmison van Basten in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aurelio Walme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A sloppy throw-in by Wellington Fonseca in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by ATHLETICO PRaiano's Vilhelm Skoog. When S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Lucio Siekkötter in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After the first half S.E.R. Caxias do Sul were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Deilmison van Basten to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Renato Augusto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deilmison van Basten took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aurelio Walme. Aurelio Walme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Aurelio Walme, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rodriguinho Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Owsiak in the 84th minute of play. Rodriguinho Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lucio Siekkötter in the 90th minute.
