Silvério Munhoz in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hermínio Barros, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of E.C. Galera booed when Noia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Augusto Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Adrianinho Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tarcisio Botelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guilherme Vasconcelos, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. E.C. Galera's Adrianinho Sarmento got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Josué Eger made a precise shot to the right of Tarcisio Botelho. E.C. Galera's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Vitório Araújo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 35 minutes into the match. The referee gave Noia a penalty, 37 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luciano Fontes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of E.C. Galera's Tarcisio Botelho. 1-2. After a rather tough play, E.C. Galera's Virgílio Lago got a free kick in the 41st minute. If Adrianinho Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Fellipe Favoretto fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Hermínio Barros, passed just outside the right post. After the first half Noia were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

E.C. Galera's Tarcisio Botelho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save E.C. Galera from getting a goal against them. After 58 minutes E.C. Galera's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luciano Fontes who took care of the corner kick. Fellipe Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermínio Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fellipe Favoretto in the 65th minute of play. Silvério Munhoz struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Hermínio Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C. Galera. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Adrianinho Sarmento managed to get in a good position for a shot. E.C. Galera's supporters rose to their feet, but Adrianinho Sarmento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hermínio Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Adrianinho Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the E.C. Galera fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adrianinho Sarmento couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Noia's zone, Fellipe Favoretto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermínio Barros came out of the goal and Fellipe Favoretto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 80 played minutes Noia got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Trigo. 83 minutes into the match, Noia's goal looked a bit too open when Adrianinho Sarmento came free, but Hermínio Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adrianinho Sarmento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermínio Barros having to interfere. The supporters of E.C. Galera booed when Noia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genílson Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th match minute, E.C. Galera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vânderson da Costa to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Noia's Luciano Fontes tried to score from far away in the 95th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.
