The supporters of Atlético Minuano booed when ROSÁRIO SPORT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aílton Neiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Atlético Minuano's Olavo de Toledo got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 29 played minutes Atlético Minuano got a freekick which was hit by Doni de Moraes. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Minuano's zone, Lino Zonta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Renato Velloso came out of the goal and Lino Zonta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Gerber in the 39th minute of play forced Atlético Minuano's goalkeeper Paulo Renato Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 45 minutes into the game, when Gonçalo Tinoco put in a rough tackle. Osmar Alves placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lino Zonta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Atlético Minuano got a freekick which was hit by Doni de Moraes. 61 minutes into the game, Atlético Minuano's Doni de Moraes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Carlos Oliveira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After 71 played minutes Atlético Minuano got a freekick which was hit by Romário Monteiro. Lúcio Dionísio kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Jardel Dionísio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Oliveira having to interfere. Paulo Renato Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Zonta, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Atlético Minuano's Jardel Dionísio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Carlos Oliveira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Jardel Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Jardel Dionísio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Minuano's supporters rose to their feet, but Jardel Dionísio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Carlos Oliveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. ROSÁRIO SPORT were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
