Deivid de Sousa might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Renato Velloso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Deivid de Sousa ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fellipe Favoretto in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo Renato Velloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 7 minutes, Oséas Chaves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Minuano and the E.C. Galera players grew even worse after the yellow card. Oséas Chaves hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Paulo Renato Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid de Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo Renato Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deivid de Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Emanuel Sabóia charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emanuel Sabóia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tarcisio Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doni de Moraes in the 16th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Atlético Minuano's goal looked a bit too open when Toninho Veiga came free, but Paulo Renato Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute Toninho Veiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tarcisio Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Rodrigues in the 25th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Atlético Minuano's Emanuel Sabóia got a free kick in the 27th minute. After recieving a nice pass, E.C. Galera's Vitório Araújo tried to score from far away in the 33rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 36th match minute, Atlético Minuano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Atlético Minuano getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Emanuel Sabóia hit a great ball. Paulo Renato Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fellipe Favoretto in the 44th minute of the match. Paulo Renato Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgílio Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the match, Fellipe Favoretto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Renato Velloso. Atlético Minuano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fellipe Favoretto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Rodrigues stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Paulo Renato Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toninho Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Virgílio Lago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo Renato Velloso was out of position in the 58 minute of play, and Fellipe Favoretto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fellipe Favoretto really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Fellipe Favoretto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Paulo Renato Velloso made a huge save. Virgílio Lago received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Paulo Renato Velloso came out and tried to block the shot, but Virgílio Lago slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 68th minute. Toninho Veiga might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Renato Velloso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Toninho Veiga ran back to his position shaking his head. After 84 played minutes Atlético Minuano got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Sabóia. Virgílio Lago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Doni de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Tarcisio Botelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atlético Minuano's Paulo Renato Velloso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Minuano from getting a goal against them. In the 91st minute Virgílio Lago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fellipe Favoretto got free with Paulo Renato Velloso in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of E.C. Galera booed when Atlético Minuano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Sabóia didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over E.C. Galera could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Atlético Minuano throughout the match.
