An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson da Silva in the 28th minute of play forced Juventudes Libertárias's goalkeeper Dedê Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 31 minutes, Sérgio da Silveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Juventudes Libertárias and the Lobo Guará players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 31st match minute, Juventudes Libertárias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sérgio da Silveira to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute, Róbson da Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Juventudes Libertárias defense, Rodriguinho Motta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dedê Trigo. The Juventudes Libertárias fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dedê Trigo should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Juventudes Libertárias booed when Lobo Guará was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adalberto Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Lobo Guará were victorious despite being under pressure from Juventudes Libertárias for much of the match.
