The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Queluzito got a freekick which was hit by Ian Nunes. A collision led to Lobo Guará getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Gustavo Nunes hit a great ball. With his leg Júnior Pires managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when Queluzito's Aírton de Amaral fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. João Prata, 11 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. José Paulo Corrêa took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Júnior Pires. Júnior Pires dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 17 minutes into the match, Lobo Guará's João Prata sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulo José Rodrigues narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Queluzito getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Jano Mineiro hit a great ball. After 19 played minutes, Lobo Guará's João Prata shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paulo José Rodrigues came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lobo Guará reached it. In the 21st minute Rodriguinho Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo José Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ian Nunes hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. When Lobo Guará's Jorginho Munhoz in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Queluzito's goalie prevented a goal. In the 28th minute, Percy Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júnior Pires made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Nando Lima sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Lobo Guará's Rodriguinho Motta got a free kick in the 33rd minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Jorginho Munhoz made the kick off in the second half. Paulo José Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorginho Munhoz in the 52nd minute of the match. Lobo Guará's Cacá de Lara was substituted for Rodriguinho Motta. Queluzito made a substitution. Felippe Fonseca replaced Jano Mineiro. Lobo Guará made a substitution. Róbson da Silva replaced Adalberto Ramalho. In the 56th match minute, Lobo Guará was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adalberto Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. Nando Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júnior Pires having to interfere. Gustavo Nunes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Paulo José Rodrigues made a huge save. After 67 played minutes Queluzito got a freekick which was hit by Percy Cabral. Júnior Pires came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Queluzito's José Paulo Corrêa. But to his dismay, José Paulo Corrêa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 73rd match minute, Lobo Guará was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cacá de Lara to maneuver through the defense. After 79 played minutes Lobo Guará got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Martins. Percy Cabral took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Júnior Pires. Lobo Guará's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Júnior Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nando Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Claudinei Tande hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. The supporters of Queluzito booed when Lobo Guará was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cacá de Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee ended the match the Queluzito players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
