Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Glauco Paranaense started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute Eliézer Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lauro Linhares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. After 10 minutes of play, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Glauco Paranaense made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Clemente Varela was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 14th minute Célio Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Glauco Paranaense got free with Clemente Varela in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, MarquinhosEC's Clemente Varela got control of the ball when Glauco Paranaense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Natanael Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 27th match minute, MarquinhosEC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guto de Toledo to maneuver through the defense. Caio Ramos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Clemente Varela firmly grabbed it by the left post. Clemente Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliézer Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Glauco Paranaense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Clemente Varela. MarquinhosEC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Glauco Paranaense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 38th match minute, MarquinhosEC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubinho Recife to maneuver through the defense. Lauro Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulisses Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Alfredo Loyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clemente Varela didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Caio Ramos went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Célio Matorin to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glauco Paranaense in the 56th minute of play forced MarquinhosEC's goalkeeper Clemente Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute, Guto de Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 65 minutes MarquinhosEC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Caio Ramos who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Caio Ramos got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Clemente Varela quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, MarquinhosEC's Marco Boldrini got a free kick in the 66th minute. With 68 minutes on the clock, Marco Boldrini commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of MarquinhosEC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CE LAJEADENSE RS:s goal. Clemente Varela had in the 69thth minute some difficulties stopping Caio Ramos's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Zé Carlos Barbosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lauro Linhares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Váldson Berger got a free kick in the 75th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Ricardinho Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. MarquinhosEC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardinho Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lauro Linhares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Glauco Paranaense in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clemente Varela saved MarquinhosEC from getting behind. 82 minutes into the match, Eliézer Ramos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Clemente Varela. MarquinhosEC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eliézer Ramos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Adilson Montenegro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Clemente Varela. MarquinhosEC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 94 minutes, Rubinho Recife managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MarquinhosEC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rubinho Recife was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in MarquinhosEC's zone, Eliézer Ramos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clemente Varela came out of the goal and Eliézer Ramos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Váldson Berger in the 97th minute of play forced MarquinhosEC's goalkeeper Clemente Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 97 minutes into the game, Rubinho Recife was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MarquinhosEC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CE LAJEADENSE RS the free kick. After a rather tough play, MarquinhosEC's Rubinho Recife got a free kick in the 98th minute. Many of MarquinhosEC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. MarquinhosEC may have spent more time on the ball, but CE LAJEADENSE RS were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
