In the 7th minute Célio Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bebeto Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, Paulo Nunes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Clemente Varela. The goal made the score 2-0. After 13 played minutes MarquinhosEC got a freekick which was hit by Guto de Toledo. Bebeto Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Carlos Barbosa in the 15th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Emílio Guerra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grêmio RK75 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flávio de Lara in the 21st minute of play forced MarquinhosEC's goalkeeper Clemente Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, MarquinhosEC's Guto de Toledo got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Paulo Nunes scored 4-0 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Clemente Varela, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Grêmio RK75's Bebeto Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardinho Moraes in the 32nd minute of play. Bebeto Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardinho Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After 36 played minutes Grêmio RK75 got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Nunes. After 37 played minutes MarquinhosEC got a freekick which was hit by Guto de Toledo. Clemente Varela was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Flávio de Lara showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-0 in the 44 minute of play. Clemente Varela came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio RK75's Paulo Nunes. But to his dismay, Paulo Nunes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulo Nunes to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the MarquinhosEC defense, Paulo Nunes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clemente Varela. The MarquinhosEC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clemente Varela should have stopped the shot. 59 minutes into the game, one of Grêmio RK75:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 61 minutes, MarquinhosEC's Alfredo Loyola got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Bebeto Paranaense. Zé Carlos Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. MarquinhosEC's Clemente Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emílio Guerra in the 71st minute of play. Martín Braithwaite's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Clemente Varela read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Bebeto Paranaense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Carlos Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martín Braithwaite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clemente Varela having to interfere. Clemente Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emílio Guerra in the 94th minute of play. Tiago Cruz's late challenge caught a Grêmio RK75's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiago Cruz helped the player get up and apologised. MarquinhosEC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
