With a little luck, MONTANHA's Sílvio Sarmento got control of the ball when Cacá de Lara tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sílvio Sarmento had great luck who in the 22ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Gustavo Nunes from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After some careless play in the MONTANHA defense, Cacá de Lara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sílvio Sarmento. The MONTANHA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sílvio Sarmento should have stopped the shot. Nilton Pinho hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Gustavo Nunes's late challenge caught a MONTANHA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tostão Munhoz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the referee ended the match the Lobo Guará players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
