Teobald Karanewski kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Carpathians's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Batista came free, but Călin Ghioncu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Carpathians's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Patrick Salkvist was slow to take the kick. During this time ContraVersão's players had a chance to rest. Patrick Salkvist made a great header on ContraVersão's corner, it was just that Carpathians's Călin Ghioncu managed to reach the ball for a save. Călin Ghioncu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of ContraVersão booed when Carpathians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ercan Sabahaddin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Călin Ghioncu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Luís Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teobald Karanewski to make the kick off. ContraVersão's Didi Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teobald Karanewski in the 59th minute of play. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind ContraVersão's goalkeeper Didi Tróia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Elias Batista blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Călin Ghioncu having to make a save. Rodrigo Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match.
