In the 4th minute Jelte Bleiswijk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Glogowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 5 minutes Club Atlético Atlanta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alfaro Meo who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that João Francisco de Andrade got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pankracy Glogowski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 9 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Jelte Bleiswijk came free, but Pankracy Glogowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led AEK S.C's Alfaro Meo to fire away a dangerous shot which Pankracy Glogowski despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 14th minute, Club Atlético Atlanta's Alfonso Goicoechea dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Donzel Goyeneta came free, but Pankracy Glogowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Donzel Goyeneta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pankracy Glogowski having to interfere. AEK S.C's attentive Rodrigo Hats managed to snatch the ball when Emil Chwalkiewicz made a throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game. After having played for 23 minutes, Jelte Bleiswijk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AEK S.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jelte Bleiswijk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of AEK S.C booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Chwalkiewicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Donzel Goyeneta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 33rd minute, Paolo Caradaro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thanasis Koltsidas was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Pankracy Glogowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donzel Goyeneta in the 36th minute of play. Thanasis Koltsidas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Nevada, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mugur Chiriac during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Mugur Chiriac got a free kick in the 44th minute. Thanasis Koltsidas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso Goicoechea in the 48th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfonso Goicoechea was the one to do the kick off. Thanasis Koltsidas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mugur Chiriac in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Remigio Erramu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Anselmo Nevada managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Atlanta's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Nevada was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thanasis Koltsidas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pankracy Glogowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jelte Bleiswijk in the 82nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jelte Bleiswijk in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pankracy Glogowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 85 minutes of play, AEK S.C's Jelte Bleiswijk made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pankracy Glogowski was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alfaro Meo kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Thanasis Koltsidas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Ferdinand in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute of the match Club Atlético Atlanta got a corner. AEK S.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ciro Ferdinand ran over to the corner to take the kick. Thanasis Koltsidas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mugur Chiriac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jelte Bleiswijk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Club Atlético Atlanta's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
