The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. David Dewulf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jelte Bleiswijk, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. David Dewulf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Francisco de Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 22 minutes, Jelte Bleiswijk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AEK S.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jelte Bleiswijk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. David Dewulf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jelte Bleiswijk in the 24th minute of the match. David Dewulf stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kevin Carreira's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. David Dewulf came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by AEK S.C's Kevin Carreira. But to his dismay, Kevin Carreira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When AEK S.C's Donzel Goyeneta in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Carreira in the 44th minute of play forced The Waldos's goalkeeper David Dewulf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Dewulf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Francisco de Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half AEK S.C were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Prudencio Isias made a kick off. David Dewulf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Francisco de Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. AEK S.C's Thanasis Koltsidas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Pagomari in the 53rd minute of play. Thanasis Koltsidas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marin Ştefănescu in the 56th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Marin Ştefănescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thanasis Koltsidas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The Waldos's David Dewulf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donzel Goyeneta in the 59th minute of play. David Dewulf was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Donzel Goyeneta showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 64 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in The Waldos's zone, Donzel Goyeneta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Dewulf came out of the goal and Donzel Goyeneta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jelte Bleiswijks short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got David Dewulf to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jelte Bleiswijk's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, David Dewulf skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rodrigo Hats recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, AEK S.C's David Dewulf threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jelte Bleiswijk, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Evandro Ortiz kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. The Waldos's Rogelio Velasco was substituted for Alvaro Pagomari. After 76 played minutes The Waldos got a freekick which was hit by Evandro Ortiz. 86 minutes into the match, The Waldos's goal looked a bit too open when Jelte Bleiswijk came free, but David Dewulf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AEK S.C's Nektarios Tsagarakis was substituted for Kevin Carreira. The Waldos were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after AEK S.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Evandro Ortiz took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Evandro Ortiz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Thanasis Koltsidas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to AEK S.C getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. João Francisco de Andrade hit a great ball. Thanasis Koltsidas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Millrick, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The The Waldos supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching AEK S.C's performance. The match ended with a win for AEK S.C.
