Cankut Wakabayashi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, South Korea's 김 준 got a free kick in the 26th minute. 27 minutes into the game, Turkey's Gürhan Sarıoğlu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. 박 서문 made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet as South Korea's 김 준 slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cankut Wakabayashi. That made the score 3-2 after 38 minutes of play. In the 43rd minute, Turgut Soyuer made a precise shot to the right of 박 서문. South Korea's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. The score stood at 3-3 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. 김 준 was the one to do the kick off. 박 서문 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Turgut Soyuer in the 52nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Turgut Soyuer in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg 박 서문 saved South Korea from getting behind. Turkey made a substitution. Zé Dos Reis replaced Turgut Soyuer. Turkey's Aydın Tor was substituted for Gürhan Sarıoğlu. Turkey's Akif Akın was substituted for Arjen Robben. In the 87th minute, Turkey's Zé Dos Reis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind 박 서문. 박 서문 yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-5. After some careless play in the South Korea defense, Zé Dos Reis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of 박 서문. The South Korea fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that 박 서문 should have stopped the shot. Cankut Wakabayashi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 김 영, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, South Korea's 박 궉 got a free kick in the 95th minute. In the 96th minute Zé Dos Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 박 서문 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Turkey players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
