FC GURZUN's Sérgio Vargas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thiago Gol in the 3rd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as SCs StarS's Thiago Gol slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sérgio Vargas. That made the score 1-0 after 7 minutes of play. 13 minutes into the match, SCs StarS's goal looked a bit too open when Ettore Madaio came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petr Čech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandru Ghionea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SCs StarS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Florian Hekman in the 19th minute. Thiago Gol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Sérgio Vargas made a huge save. Joakim Andersson was slow to take the kick. During this time FC GURZUN's players had a chance to rest. 27 minutes into the match, FC GURZUN's goalkeeper Sérgio Vargas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thiago Gol. 29 minutes into the match, SCs StarS's goal looked a bit too open when Nikolas Kafkalas came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute, Nae Hurmuzache made a precise shot to the right of Petr Čech. SCs StarS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Petr Čech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nae Hurmuzache in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, SCs StarS's goal looked a bit too open when Nae Hurmuzache came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 34 minutes, Co Scholten mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SCs StarS and the FC GURZUN players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th minute, Co Scholten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thiago Gols short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Sérgio Vargas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nikolas Kafkalas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Petr Čech tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sérgio Vargas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thiago Gol in the 43rd minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

A collision led to SCs StarS getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Robert de Graaf hit a great ball. Florian Hekman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd match minute, FC GURZUN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joakim Andersson to maneuver through the defense. SCs StarS's Florian Hekman got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jordy Dirks recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 67 minutes into the match, FC GURZUN's goal looked a bit too open when Thiago Gol came free, but Sérgio Vargas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 69 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC GURZUN's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Florian Hekman was slow to take the kick. During this time SCs StarS's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FC GURZUN's goalie and right to Edgar Reitsema. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FC GURZUN's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Petr Čech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ettore Madaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thiago Gol in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sérgio Vargas saved FC GURZUN from getting behind. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC GURZUN's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Florian Hekman was slow to take the kick. During this time SCs StarS's players had a chance to rest. The audience was convinced that Thiago Gol's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sérgio Vargas was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, FC GURZUN's Joakim Andersson got a free kick in the 86th minute. FC GURZUN's Matei Cozmâncă was substituted for Ettore Madaio. Joakim Andersson kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Sérgio Vargas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thiago Gol, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. The supporters of FC GURZUN booed when SCs StarS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthijs Ebbinge didn't get a good kick on the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
