Tommy Höijer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guy Davis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Holy Cross Mountains's goal looked a bit too open when Gösta Lind came free, but Guy Davis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute Gösta Lind shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guy Davis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sven-Olof Palmquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Magne Hääger hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Holy Cross Mountains's Guy Davis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vilgot Rang in the 35th minute of play. Guy Davis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vilgot Rang in the 42nd minute of the match. After 44 played minutes Swedish Airline Team got a freekick which was hit by Vilgot Rang. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Horea Decuseară was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Holy Cross Mountains getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Emanuel Stroescu hit a great ball. Vihren Dandov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horea Decuseară in the 59th minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Joel Nordal recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Guy Davis. Joel Nordal showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Magne Hääger's late challenge caught a Holy Cross Mountains's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Magne Hääger helped the player get up and apologised. In the 66th match minute, Swedish Airline Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Magne Hääger to maneuver through the defense. Swedish Airline Team's Vihren Dandov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynaldo Mede in the 72nd minute of play. If Vilgot Rang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peter Steadman kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. The supporters of Swedish Airline Team booed when Holy Cross Mountains was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Stroescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Holy Cross Mountains's Hugon Budacz got a free kick in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vilgot Rang in the 81st minute of play forced Holy Cross Mountains's goalkeeper Guy Davis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guy Davis came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Swedish Airline Team's Vilgot Rang. But to his dismay, Vilgot Rang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Olof Palmquist got free with Guy Davis in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 91 minutes into the match, Vilgot Rang had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guy Davis. Holy Cross Mountains's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vilgot Rang was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Guy Davis was a little too slow when Vilgot Rang got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 0-5.
