The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Libardo Duarte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agostinho Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After a rather tough play, Richmond City's Benji Campos got a free kick in the 4th minute. Libardo Duarte came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Musquiada's Laerte Favoretto. But to his dismay, Laerte Favoretto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Musquiada booed when Richmond City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Selvin Parada didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Musquiada getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Rafael Peixoto hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Musquiada's goalkeeper Ronaldinho Aguiar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Milton Bustamante. Ronaldinho Aguiar had great luck who in the 23rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Ramon Barragan from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 25th minute, one of Musquiada:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Musquiada. Fabio Melendez shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Ramon Barragan was extremely unlucky when he, in the 29th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When Cauã Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Musquiada's protests and gave Cauã Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Musquiada got a freekick which was hit by Cauã Barbosa. In the 33rd minute of the match, Ramon Barragan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ronaldinho Aguiar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Laerte Favoretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelo Botello charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcelo Botello the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ramon Barragan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ronaldinho Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Agostinho Meirelles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Libardo Duarte. Richmond City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agostinho Meirelles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After 46 played minutes Richmond City got a freekick which was hit by Benjamín Sigaran. After having played for 48 minutes, Agostinho Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Musquiada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agostinho Meirelles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The wind increased when Laerte Favoretto made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Laerte Favoretto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Musquiada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laerte Favoretto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Agostinho Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Libardo Duarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Musquiada's Agostinho Meirelles ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Libardo Duarte. Libardo Duarte yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dagoberto de Senna during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dagoberto de Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Ronaldinho Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milton Bustamante in the 73rd minute of the match. Cleiton Bertassi kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milton Bustamante in the 75th minute of play forced Musquiada's goalkeeper Ronaldinho Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute, Alfredo Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ramon Barragan struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Ronaldinho Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Richmond City. Musquiada's Cleiton Bertassi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Libardo Duarte in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 89th minute Ramon Barragan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldinho Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Musquiada's goalkeeper Ronaldinho Aguiar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Favoretto in the 94th minute of play forced Richmond City's goalkeeper Libardo Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramon Barragan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Ronaldinho Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Musquiada eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
