Ivan Mangope breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Takalani Josephs kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Freddy Izel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Mangope saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albert Sibeko kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. When Patricio Hibai fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ELAUBE's protests and gave Patricio Hibai a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Springbok booed when ELAUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Hibai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Takalani Josephs received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mario Ferrando came out and tried to block the shot, but Takalani Josephs slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 22nd minute. Pascual Hever fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Mangope having to interfere. Patricio Hibai got his second yellow card in the match during the 28th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to ELAUBE getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Patricio Hibai hit a great ball. If Samuel Komani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Takalani Josephs ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mario Ferrando was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samuel Komani got free with Mario Ferrando in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee felt a red card was in order, 45 minutes into the game, when Florencio Barea put in a rough tackle. In the 45th minute, one of ELAUBE:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ELAUBE. Bernard Thokozani walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edries Liau stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to ELAUBE getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Dionisio Firmo hit a great ball. 53 minutes into the match, Edries Liau had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mario Ferrando. ELAUBE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edries Liau was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 59 minutes into the game, Springbok's Takalani Josephs nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mario Ferrando made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. A collision led to Springbok getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Johann Stoltz hit a great ball. Springbok's Ivan Mangope played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustino Servando in the 63rd minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Pascual Hever managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ELAUBE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pascual Hever was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Edries Liau came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Springbok fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edries Liau couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Springbok booed when ELAUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafin Piorno didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes into the game, one of ELAUBE:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustino Servando in the 99th minute of play forced Springbok's goalkeeper Ivan Mangope to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
