Encourados's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Geraldo Ramires in the 39th minute. Moisés Jordão hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Catarino Ferreira made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Boleslaw Mudry sent off a good shot on target. In the 45th minute, one of Encourados:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Encourados. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Boleslaw Mudry to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Boleslaw Mudry in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Catarino Ferreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 54 minutes into the match, Vítor Mesquita notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Chester City AFC's Emrys Fry. Emrys Fry was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. Encourados's Catarino Ferreira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 82 minutes into the match, Encourados's goal looked a bit too open when Boleslaw Mudry came free, but Catarino Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vítor Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
