Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ramon Barragan took the kick off in the first half of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Vítor Mesquita could shoot a difficult shot in the 4th minute, which Libardo Duarte however easily saved by the left post. Ramon Barragan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Richmond City's zone, Altino Damásio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Libardo Duarte came out of the goal and Altino Damásio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Catarino Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milton Bustamante in the 28th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Richmond City's goal looked a bit too open when Altino Damásio came free, but Libardo Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vítor Mesquita took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Libardo Duarte. Libardo Duarte dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Catarino Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milton Bustamante in the 36th minute of the match. Catarino Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramon Barragan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute of the match, Altino Damásio tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Libardo Duarte saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 42 played minutes Encourados got a freekick which was hit by Geraldo Ramires. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Altino Damásio was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Encourados got a freekick which was hit by Altino Damásio. The audience was convinced that Ramon Barragan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Catarino Ferreira was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. After 64 minutes, Ramon Barragan made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Encourados's Catarino Ferreira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ramon Barragan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Richmond City booed when Encourados was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Brites didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Altino Damásio came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Encourados fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Altino Damásio couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodoro Quental during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Encourados getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Teodoro Quental hit a great ball. With his leg Catarino Ferreira managed to avoid a goal in the 83rdth minute, when Richmond City's Milton Bustamante fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Vítor Mesquita might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Libardo Duarte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vítor Mesquita ran back to his position shaking his head. Libardo Duarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Altino Damásio in the 93rd minute of play. The Richmond City players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
