Atlético de Caracas were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Meia Ronda's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gabirel Caceo took the corner. After taking down the ball on Atlético de Caracas's corner Gabirel Caceo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Didi Lima quite easily take care of the ball. Didi Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Santarém, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After 21 played minutes Atlético de Caracas got a freekick which was hit by Piero Hincapié. Zarando Calva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lino Berger in the 22nd minute. Atlético de Caracas's Zarando Calva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético de Caracas from getting a goal against them. 31 minutes into the match, Atlético de Caracas's goalkeeper Zarando Calva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lino Berger. When Meia Ronda's Sílvio Luiz de Lima in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atlético de Caracas's goalie prevented a goal.
