Planetstaden IK's Karl Wiman got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Gregory Pegrum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daron Davidson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 56 played minutes Planetstaden IK got a freekick which was hit by Brian Kinnman. Brian Kinnman hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. 63 minutes into the match, Raul Knox had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gregory Pegrum. Planetstaden IK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raul Knox was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 67th minute, Karl Wiman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Planetstaden IK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 3-3 when Karl Wiman sped through El Canalla de Chicago's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jude Vang. Gregory Pegrum showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingo Lopez in the 81st minute of the match.
