After a defensive mix-up in Inter de Chillán's zone, Osvaldo Frutos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anton Björnberg came out of the goal and Osvaldo Frutos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Salvador Mateluna kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Anton Björnberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Osvaldo Frutos's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Inter de Chillán's attentive Florencio Jax managed to snatch the ball when Telo Metou made a throw-in in the 28th minute of the game. In the 31st minute Osvaldo Frutos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anton Björnberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 44 minutes, Fernán Chiquillo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inter de Chillán and the Barrio Norte FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vitório de Medeiros got free with Anton Björnberg in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vatan Enfal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samuel Abel got free with Valentin Ospetsu in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Inter de Chillán booed when Barrio Norte FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldo Frutos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuel Abel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Valentin Ospetsu made a huge save. Ofelio Galván hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After 82 played minutes Barrio Norte FC got a freekick which was hit by Ofelio Galván. Valentin Ospetsu acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 83rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Arnaldo Detmer. Valentin Ospetsu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florencio Jax in the 85th minute of play. If Florencio Jax had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Valentin Ospetsu made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Florencio Jax sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ofelio Galván in the 88th minute of play forced Inter de Chillán's goalkeeper Anton Björnberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rickard Erserman in the 90th minute of play forced Barrio Norte FC's goalkeeper Valentin Ospetsu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anton Björnberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karlos Bravo in the 93rd minute of the match. 96 minutes into the match, Rickard Erserman notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Barrio Norte FC's Valentin Ospetsu. Valentin Ospetsu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
