The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Xalvador Mac Kenney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Ospetsu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo Frutos in the 7th minute of play forced VILLANUEVA FC's goalkeeper Nicodemo Recalde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Frutos notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of VILLANUEVA FC's Nicodemo Recalde. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Frutos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nicodemo Recalde. VILLANUEVA FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osvaldo Frutos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Valentin Ospetsu came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by VILLANUEVA FC's Marcel Blanco. But to his dismay, Marcel Blanco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 37 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Frutos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nicodemo Recalde. VILLANUEVA FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osvaldo Frutos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. 39 minutes into the match, VILLANUEVA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Frutos came free, but Nicodemo Recalde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 42 played minutes Barrio Norte FC got a freekick which was hit by Victor Hugo Pinilla. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xalvador Mac Kenney was the one to do the kick off. Marcel Blanco scored 2-4 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valentin Ospetsu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind VILLANUEVA FC's goalkeeper Nicodemo Recalde, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nicodemo Recalde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Frutos in the 55th minute of the match. The supporters of Barrio Norte FC booed when VILLANUEVA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severo Anabalon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Osvaldo Frutos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicodemo Recalde having to make a save. Esteban José Norambuena struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Valentin Ospetsu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VILLANUEVA FC. Barrio Norte FC's Karlos Bravo was substituted for Edilberto Aballay. In the 64th match minute, Barrio Norte FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karlos Bravo to maneuver through the defense. Barrio Norte FC's Valentin Ospetsu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel Blanco in the 66th minute of play. Nicodemo Recalde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karlos Bravo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The coaching staff of Barrio Norte FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Victor Hugo Pinilla had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Barrio Norte FC! Reces Cabanillas placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! 81 minutes into the match, Barrio Norte FC's goal looked a bit too open when Xacobo Barroso came free, but Valentin Ospetsu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karlos Bravo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 89 minutes into the match, VILLANUEVA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Karlos Bravo came free, but Nicodemo Recalde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. VILLANUEVA FC's Nicodemo Recalde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karlos Bravo in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Karlos Bravo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nicodemo Recalde was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-6. In the 97th match minute, Barrio Norte FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ofelio Galván to maneuver through the defense. Reces Cabanillas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 98th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Barrio Norte FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
