Gianluigi Buffon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gianluigi Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harold Tronconi in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sociedad Anónima's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nilton Lira was slow to take the kick. During this time Grêmio RK75's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Lucas Veríssimo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gianluigi Buffon quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gianluigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harold Tronconi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harold Tronconi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gianluigi Buffon having to make a save. Gianluigi Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harold Tronconi, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Ramos Trasmiera made in the 29th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Grêmio RK75's Rodrigo Abraão. After 29 played minutes Grêmio RK75 got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Abraão. Velasco Rollan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 31st minute of the match, Velasco Rollan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but João Francisco Tinoco saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Harold Tronconi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, João Francisco Tinoco successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Grêmio RK75 getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Fernandinho Saraiva hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marino Malet in the 41st minute of play forced Grêmio RK75's goalkeeper João Francisco Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute Marino Malet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Francisco Tinoco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
