After 23 played minutes, Avelgem ad. Schelde's Sylvan Vandendriessche shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Patrick Steuckens came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Avelgem ad. Schelde reached it. Ferdinand Fabry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute, Jerom Van De Velden ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Patrick Steuckens was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Steffen Steenbecks made a kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Ferdinand Fabry managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Avelgem ad. Schelde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferdinand Fabry was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Jeroen Maenhout sped through La masia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Patrick Steuckens. Patrick Steuckens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeroen Maenhout, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Patrick Steuckens managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Avelgem ad. Schelde's Jeroen Maenhout fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 67th minute, Jeroen Maenhout fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Patrick Steuckens, passed just outside the right post. Jeroen Maenhout sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eric Limpens hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. La masia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeroen Maenhout was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. Jerom Van De Velden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. La masia's Patrick Steuckens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save La masia from getting a goal against them. In the 85th minute, Jeroen Maenhout ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Patrick Steuckens was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. Ferdinand Fabry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 90th minute, Jeroen Maenhout fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Patrick Steuckens, passed just outside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in La masia's zone, Ferdinand Fabry stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patrick Steuckens came out of the goal and Ferdinand Fabry tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Avelgem ad. Schelde's Jeroen Maenhout got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to La masia getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Steffen Steenbecks hit a great ball. Avelgem ad. Schelde's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
