With a couple of smart ball manuevers Saltuk Askeroğlu in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdis Felbergs saved Black horses from getting behind. Valdis Felbergs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niculae Ungureanu in the 32nd minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Black horses's goal looked a bit too open when Niculae Ungureanu came free, but Valdis Felbergs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Andriy Lunin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. from getting a goal against them. If Niculae Ungureanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdis Felbergs came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Saltuk Askeroğlu. But to his dismay, Saltuk Askeroğlu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Cipriano Sauveur took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andriy Lunin. Andriy Lunin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Valdis Felbergs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niculae Ungureanu in the 47th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Cipriano Sauveur struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Andriy Lunin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Black horses. Nico Schlotter got a throw-in 59 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Niculae Ungureanu. Cipriano Sauveur's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andriy Lunin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Niculae Ungureanu got free with Valdis Felbergs in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
