The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Lázaro Cuartio got a free kick in the 4th minute. Pankracy Glogowski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Belo Alvarez in the 6th minute. In the 10th minute Mugur Chiriac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurino Serena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute Club Atlético Atlanta were awarded a corner. Ciro Ferdinand went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Ciro Ferdinand almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but A.D. Alcorcón's Maurino Serena did a great save. After some careless play in the Club Atlético Atlanta defense, Belo Alvarez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pankracy Glogowski. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pankracy Glogowski should have stopped the shot. Apolinar Guijarro kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. A.D. Alcorcón's Maurino Serena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Goicoechea in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute Anselmo Nevada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurino Serena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute of the match, Belo Alvarez got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pankracy Glogowski was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Belo Alvarez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Pankracy Glogowski made a huge save. Anselmo Nevada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A.D. Alcorcón's Manolo Bacete got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Maurino Serena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Goicoechea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 37th minute of the match A.D. Alcorcón got a corner. Club Atlético Atlanta's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leroy Antunez ran over to the corner to take the kick. A.D. Alcorcón's Belo Alvarez was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pankracy Glogowski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Maurino Serena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Goicoechea, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Alfonso Goicoechea took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maurino Serena. Maurino Serena dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Belo Alvarez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Maurino Serena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfonso Goicoechea in the 51st minute. In the 53rd match minute, A.D. Alcorcón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Vadillos to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manolo Bacete in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pankracy Glogowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 57 minutes into the game, Manolo Bacete cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Pankracy Glogowski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A.D. Alcorcón's Eriz Acha was substituted for Natxo Cacheres. 61 minutes into the match, A.D. Alcorcón's goal looked a bit too open when Mugur Chiriac came free, but Maurino Serena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Manolo Bacete came free, but Pankracy Glogowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pankracy Glogowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manolo Bacete in the 66th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, A.D. Alcorcón's Manolo Bacete sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pankracy Glogowski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pankracy Glogowski came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by A.D. Alcorcón's Belo Alvarez. But to his dismay, Belo Alvarez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Club Atlético Atlanta made a substitution. Benigno Abreu replaced Remigio Erramu. A.D. Alcorcón's Maurino Serena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugur Chiriac in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Manolo Bacete ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pankracy Glogowski was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 84 minutes Club Atlético Atlanta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Leroy Antunez who took care of the corner kick. 87 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Manolo Bacete came free, but Pankracy Glogowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute Isaac Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Glogowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Isaac Ortiz sped through Club Atlético Atlanta's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pankracy Glogowski. Club Atlético Atlanta's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
