If Matei Corona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 4 minutes into the game, Matei Corona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ján Tuleja was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Matej Adamec blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicolae Ceaușescu having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobiasz Rostow in the 10th minute of play forced FC Melon's goalkeeper Ján Tuleja to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Master Champion BMX Flat's Matei Corona in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Melon's goalie prevented a goal. 14 minutes into the match, Master Champion BMX Flat's goalkeeper Nicolae Ceaușescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomáš Guzy. Ján Tuleja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tobiasz Rostow in the 17th minute of play. Ján Tuleja showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobiasz Rostow, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. FC Melon's Ján Tuleja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tobiasz Rostow in the 23rd minute of play. With a little luck, Master Champion BMX Flat's Nicolae Ceaușescu got control of the ball when Marek Janič tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Master Champion BMX Flat booed when FC Melon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marek Janič didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ján Tuleja stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matei Corona's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. After 36 played minutes, Master Champion BMX Flat's Lev Shershun shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ján Tuleja came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Master Champion BMX Flat reached it. After 41 played minutes Master Champion BMX Flat got a freekick which was hit by Perivaldo Aparecido. In the 42ndth minute of the game Marek Janič who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Master Champion BMX Flat's Nicolae Ceaușescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had been going on for 47 minutes, FC Melon's Matej Adamec got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Nicolae Ceaușescu.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tobiasz Rostow to make the kick off. Nicolae Ceaușescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matej Adamec in the 58th minute of play. In the 58th minute Matej Adamec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolae Ceaușescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicolae Ceaușescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomáš Guzy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 63 played minutes Master Champion BMX Flat got a freekick which was hit by Lev Shershun. FC Melon's Tomáš Semenník was substituted for Jaromír Mojžiš. A collision led to Master Champion BMX Flat getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Lev Shershun hit a great ball. A collision led to FC Melon getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Richard Kremeň hit a great ball. Ján Tuleja made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Aarne Mikkola sent off a good shot on target. Tobiasz Rostow's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ján Tuleja read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Tobiasz Rostow's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ján Tuleja was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Master Champion BMX Flat's Nicolae Ceaușescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Holub in the 81st minute of play. Master Champion BMX Flat's Jorge Vasconcelos was substituted for Matei Corona. After some careless play in the Master Champion BMX Flat defense, Vladimír Madeja kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nicolae Ceaușescu. The Master Champion BMX Flat fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicolae Ceaușescu should have stopped the shot. Master Champion BMX Flat's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
