Yahia van der Saar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zdzislaw Krzynowek in the 14th minute of play. The FC GIDLE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Clayton Gol managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sheriff's supporters rose to their feet, but Clayton Gol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artur Sarnat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of FC GIDLE booed when Sheriff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damaso Xacintu didn't get a good kick on the ball.
