After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Fredric Melander managed to get in a good position for a shot. National Team Cape-Verde's supporters rose to their feet, but Fredric Melander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hampus Gallberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mansfield Town FC's Hampus Gallberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Vibjörnsson in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute Fredric Melander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hampus Gallberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute Martin Wennerquist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Sefastsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, National Team Cape-Verde's Pål Sefastsson got control of the ball when Tor Olofsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hampus Gallberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fredric Melander in the 42nd minute of the match. National Team Cape-Verde's Pål Sefastsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Sandell in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

National Team Cape-Verde made a substitution. Klas Bergqvist replaced Fredric Melander. National Team Cape-Verde's Carlos Alberto Tevez was substituted for Bennvar Post. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andreas Sandell to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andreas Sandell in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pål Sefastsson saved National Team Cape-Verde from getting behind. Mansfield Town FC were furious when Christopher Forsman was red carded, 80 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 79 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mansfield Town FC! When the match had been going on for 81 minutes, National Team Cape-Verde's Tymoteusz Watarz got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Hampus Gallberg. Carlos Alberto Tevezs short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Hampus Gallberg to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 90th minute, Andreas Sandell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Alberto Tevez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Hampus Gallberg made a huge save. After having played for 99 minutes, Klas Bergqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. National Team Cape-Verde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Klas Bergqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
