In the 6th minute, one of Academica Pulheim:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Academica Pulheim. Academica Pulheim:s Dariusz Wieberneit showed great skill when he stopped Valério Rosado:s penalty. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jairo Machado in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dariusz Wieberneit prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Christoph Sönksen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Oscar Saraiva made a huge save. Gottlieb Hagedorn kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Academica Pulheim's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Machado came free, but Dariusz Wieberneit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roman Biehlert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oscar Saraiva having to make a save. When Ulisses Sabóia fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Hermanos CIMZ's protests and gave Ulisses Sabóia a yellow card for diving instead. After 17 played minutes Los Hermanos CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by Ulisses Sabóia. The supporters of Academica Pulheim booed when Los Hermanos CIMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valério Rosado didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Stefan Winitzki fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academica Pulheim's protests and gave Stefan Winitzki a yellow card for diving instead. After 24 played minutes Academica Pulheim got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Winitzki. After 32 played minutes, Los Hermanos CIMZ's Zé Augusto Antunes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dariusz Wieberneit came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Los Hermanos CIMZ reached it. Jairo Machado struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Dariusz Wieberneit didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Hermanos CIMZ. When Los Hermanos CIMZ's Porumbescu Xanthopoulos in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Jacek Gerster hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. 76 minutes in the game, Gabriel Bezerra fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Dariusz Wieberneit having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Michael Paziorek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oscar Saraiva was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Gabriel Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Dariusz Wieberneit tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Noel Schaffert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Los Hermanos CIMZ's Jairo Machado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dariusz Wieberneit narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dariusz Wieberneit took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Porumbescu Xanthopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Los Hermanos CIMZ's Zézinho Albuquerque got a free kick in the 98th minute.

There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Academica Pulheim fully deserved thier win.
