With an all-out effort, Australian Youth Academy's Deivid Rosa threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Neville Wal, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Arlindo Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Dani Cochrane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Deivid Rosa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olliver Todman in the 8th minute. Cactos's Deivid Rosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Cactos from getting a goal against them. When Kléberson Messias fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cactos's protests and gave Kléberson Messias a yellow card for diving instead. After 18 played minutes Cactos got a freekick which was hit by Kléberson Messias. Deivid Rosa made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Olliver Todman sent off a good shot on target. Dani Cochrane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franklin Leite in the 23rd minute of the match. Australian Youth Academy's Dani Cochrane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arlindo Freire in the 25th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 35 minutes into the game, when Jamie Baba put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Australian Youth Academy fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! The Australian Youth Academy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cactos were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olliver Todman to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Australian Youth Academy's Ben Minton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Deivid Rosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arlindo Freire could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Dani Cochrane made a huge save. In the 62nd minute, Dakota Gaffigan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cactos made a substitution. Hamílton Trigo replaced Arlindo Freire. A collision led to Australian Youth Academy getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Dakota Gaffigan hit a great ball. Deivid Rosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olliver Todman in the 69th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute of the match, Gugu Montenegro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dani Cochrane saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dugald Berresford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Australian Youth Academy getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Neville Wal hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Amílton Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cactos's supporters rose to their feet, but Amílton Paulista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dani Cochrane breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 84th match minute, Australian Youth Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Neville Wal to maneuver through the defense. Júlio Gaspar kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Cactos's Kléberson Messias got a free kick in the 87th minute. Bradley Obree hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. 91 minutes into the match, Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Dani Cochrane had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gugu Montenegro. 93 minutes into the match, Franklin Leite notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Australian Youth Academy's Dani Cochrane. Dani Cochrane was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cactos had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
