Patrick Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Casimiro Lertxun in the 11th minute of play. After 13 played minutes Alfa FC got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luiz do Vale. Guillermo Emenon took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Patrick Cardozo. Alfa FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gilberto Pires kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 15th minute of the match Guillermo Emenon sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Patrick Cardozo skillfully saved the ball. In the 20th minute Lázaro Llope shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Cardozo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrick Cardozo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lázaro Llope, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Lázaro Llope's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patrick Cardozo was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Joélson Rodrigues scored to the left of an out of position Victor Matxin, making the score, 1-0. Guillermo Emenon went to the cornerflag to take it. After 39 minutes of play, Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's Simon Gutierrez made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Patrick Cardozo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's Lázaro Llope got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When Virgilio Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's protests and gave Virgilio Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Acercate Y Patea de Lejos getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Virgilio Rubio hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Alfa FC's Joélson Rodrigues got a free kick in the 54th minute. Lázaro Llope's late challenge caught a Alfa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lázaro Llope helped the player get up and apologised. In the 55th match minute, Acercate Y Patea de Lejos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lázaro Llope to maneuver through the defense. Patrick Cardozo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardino Baumar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernardino Baumar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Patrick Cardozo made a huge save. Emanuel Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Matxin having to interfere. Acercate Y Patea de Lejos made a substitution. Gabriel Isusko replaced Marciano Bertran. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Lázaro Llope managed to get in a good position for a shot. Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's supporters rose to their feet, but Lázaro Llope was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patrick Cardozo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfa FC's Patrick Cardozo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Alfa FC from getting a goal against them. Lázaro Llope received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Patrick Cardozo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Virgilio Rubio was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 79 minutes had been played. After 80 played minutes Acercate Y Patea de Lejos got a freekick which was hit by Virgilio Rubio. In the 91st minute of the match, Lázaro Llope tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Patrick Cardozo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Both players had fought hard during the second half to keep the score at 1-1. The tie meant more entertainment for the crowd as the match moved into extra-time.
After the break the players went out on the field to play the first half of overtime with revived energy in their legs. Alfa FC's Jacinto de Sena started the play with the initial kick off. After 100 played minutes Alfa FC got a freekick which was hit by Joélson Rodrigues. Alfa FC's Patrick Cardozo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Gutierrez in the 102nd minute of play. If Bernardino Baumar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 104th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 107th minute Lázaro Llope shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Cardozo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Matxin was out of position in the 108 minute of play, and Joélson Rodrigues capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Joélson Rodrigues really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Acercate Y Patea de Lejos's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
