The audience was convinced that Carnero Arramendia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredo Neves was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Fábio Cardoso scored 1-0 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Xzavaier Pedraza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Xzavaier Pedraza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antônio Carlos Silva in the 21st minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Antônio Carlos Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute of the match, Fábio Cardoso got a very nice opportunity to score, but Xzavaier Pedraza was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Sebastião Hermes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Xipoko protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sebastião Hermes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 43 played minutes Xipoko got a freekick which was hit by Sebastião Hermes. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Gonzales Subijana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ornopata's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonzales Subijana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Neves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The supporters of Xipoko booed when Ornopata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quiñónez Lloreda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carnero Arramendia, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. When Carnero Arramendia came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Ornopata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carnero Arramendia couldn't finish the play. After 60 minutes, Tiaguinho Salles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Xipoko and the Ornopata players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ornopata booed when Xipoko was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiaguinho Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Neves came out of the goal and Gonzales Subijana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Xipoko's Alfredo Neves got control of the ball when Urbez Naveros tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mauro de Moraes's late challenge caught a Ornopata's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauro de Moraes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th match minute, Xipoko was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro de Moraes to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th match minute, Xipoko was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiaguinho Salles to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Gonzales Subijana from long distance, 81 minutes into the match, got Alfredo Neves's attention. But to his dismay, Carnero Arramendia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Alfredo Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camilo Alderete, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zavier Arnaez's late challenge caught a Xipoko's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zavier Arnaez helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Ornopata's Zavier Arnaez got a free kick in the 93rd minute.
