When Pius Klein fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stapelberg FSV's protests and gave Pius Klein a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Stapelberg FSV's Pius Klein got a free kick in the 4th minute. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Stapelberg FSV! In the 8th minute there was a penalty for AFC Chievo Verona. Seb Hurdle stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jürgen Krenn. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Hugh Kennedy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jürgen Krenn was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Paul Poate might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jürgen Krenn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paul Poate ran back to his position shaking his head. Jürgen Krenn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugh Kennedy in the 17th minute of the match. Jürgen Krenn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bart Smith, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Bradley Nonnenbruch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stapelberg FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC Chievo Verona the free kick. The supporters of AFC Chievo Verona booed when Stapelberg FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradley Nonnenbruch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jürgen Krenn made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Pete Impey sent off a good shot on target. Hugh Kennedy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Jürgen Krenn made a huge save. Jürgen Krenn came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by AFC Chievo Verona's Pete Impey. But to his dismay, Pete Impey quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After 31 minutes of play, AFC Chievo Verona's Bart Smith made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jürgen Krenn was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bart Smith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Jürgen Krenn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gürhan Yücel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Santelmann in the 41st minute of play. Jürgen Krenn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugh Kennedy in the 42nd minute of the match. Jürgen Krenn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bart Smith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the game, AFC Chievo Verona's Hugh Kennedy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jürgen Krenn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0.
With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hugh Kennedy in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jürgen Krenn saved Stapelberg FSV from getting behind. In the 53rd minute, Ali Murat Flosbach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the game, AFC Chievo Verona's Paul Poate nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jürgen Krenn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Paul Poate took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jürgen Krenn. Jürgen Krenn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. After a rather tough play, Stapelberg FSV's Ali Murat Flosbach got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 65th minute Marek Hartley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jürgen Krenn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 68 minutes of play, AFC Chievo Verona's Bart Smith made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jürgen Krenn was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hugh Kennedy kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Jürgen Krenn came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by AFC Chievo Verona's Hugh Kennedy. But to his dismay, Hugh Kennedy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. In the 89th minute of the match Mark Slade sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jürgen Krenn skillfully saved the ball. Niko Hewerer charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Niko Hewerer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Stapelberg FSV getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Niko Hewerer hit a great ball. In the 93rd match minute, Stapelberg FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pius Klein to maneuver through the defense. After 94 played minutes, AFC Chievo Verona's Seb Hurdle shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jürgen Krenn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AFC Chievo Verona reached it. Jürgen Krenn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bart Smith, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. AFC Chievo Verona walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
