In the 6th match minute, Surroj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bardibal Elmasllari to maneuver through the defense. AFC Chievo Verona's Paul Poate got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, AFC Chievo Verona's Marek Hartley got a free kick in the 12th minute. Albi Januzaj in the 18thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gürhan Yücel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Erald Mehmetaj kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Paul Poate made a precise shot to the right of Hilmi Marku. Surroj's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Gürhan Yücel acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 27th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Krenar Veleshta. In the 29th minute, Hugh Kennedy ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hilmi Marku was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Albi Januzaj came free with the goalkeeper in the 34th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gürhan Yücel could save by the left post. After 35 played minutes Surroj got a freekick which was hit by Veli Gorica. After 37th play minutes Hugh Kennedy shot 1-3, a short shot which went by Hilmi Marku and just under the crossbar into goal. Rrapi Tusha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gürhan Yücel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rrapi Tusha, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rrapi Tusha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Paul Poate took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Hilmi Marku to make any attempt to save it. In the 57th minute Paul Poate shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hilmi Marku saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When AFC Chievo Verona's Paul Poate in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Surroj's goalie prevented a goal. Marek Hartley hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute Rrapi Tusha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gürhan Yücel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Naim Xeci fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Surroj's protests and gave Naim Xeci a yellow card for diving instead. After 66 played minutes Surroj got a freekick which was hit by Naim Xeci. Hilmi Marku stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paul Poate's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paul Poate in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hilmi Marku prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hugh Kennedy during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Rrapi Tusha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the match, AFC Chievo Verona's goal looked a bit too open when Bardibal Elmasllari came free, but Gürhan Yücel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gürhan Yücel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bardibal Elmasllari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to AFC Chievo Verona getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Marek Hartley hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute of the match Krenar Veleshta shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gürhan Yücel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. AFC Chievo Verona's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
