After 12 played minutes San Martin de Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Anastasio Amesti. A collision led to San Martin de Tucuman getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Eriberto Osasun hit a great ball. 14 minutes into the match, San Martin de Tucuman's goal looked a bit too open when Svatomír Krajíček came free, but Cecilio Jax reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20thth minute of the game Radoslav Plašil who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cecilio Jax took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítek Bittner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pardubice Hurricanes's Přemek Ouředník played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmelo Osoitz in the 25th minute of play.
