The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciro Pellegrini got free with Du in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, NDVX's Du got control of the ball when Ciro Pellegrini tried to sneak it across the goal line. Du showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Pellegrini in the 27th minute of the match. But to his dismay, Carlos Bento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ciro Pellegrini made a kick off. Saverio Fidele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Bento, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the match, NDVX's goal looked a bit too open when Ciro Pellegrini came free, but Du reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute Kazimierz Birkenhagen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saverio Fidele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Chelco FC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Lambe Travieso hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Chelco FC's goalkeeper Saverio Fidele, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 93 minutes into the game, Baldomero Rufio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-5. Du was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The NDVX supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing NDVX would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
