Charlotte Hornets's Stellan Palacios quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ermanno Testi, made in the 20th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dino Gazza in the 26th minute of play forced Charlotte Hornets's goalkeeper Augustin Halipa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augustin Halipa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino Gazza, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 36th minute, Israel Silviano made a precise shot to the right of Dino Roberto. Villadeatese FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Thanks to some nice moves Ermanno Testi could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which Augustin Halipa however easily saved by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amado Llope in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dino Roberto saved Villadeatese FC from getting behind. Benigno Maxin hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Alberto Maranhense sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Charlotte Hornets's Augustin Halipa didn't even have to move. Arrigo Clementi's late challenge caught a Charlotte Hornets's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arrigo Clementi helped the player get up and apologised. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Israel Silviano to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51st play minutes Arrigo Clementi shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Augustin Halipa and just under the crossbar into goal. Israel Silvianos short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Dino Roberto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Villadeatese FC's Dino Gazza in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Charlotte Hornets's goalie prevented a goal. Augustin Halipa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dino Gazza in the 76th minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Charlotte Hornets's goal looked a bit too open when Arrigo Clementi came free, but Augustin Halipa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Dino Gazza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Augustin Halipa was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Villadeatese FC's Dino Roberto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Villadeatese FC from getting a goal against them. Zabal Villanueva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Villadeatese FC's Corrado Apolloni was substituted for Amerigo Pedroni. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Villadeatese FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Charlotte Hornets had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
