With his leg Valentin Bernal managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when New England Minas's Edgardo Silva fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 9 minutes into the game, Edgardo Silva lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Valentin Bernal. Valentin Bernal made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when António Nóbrega sent off a good shot on target. In the 15th minute, Dagoberto Moraes made a precise shot to the right of Jeremy Nicholas. New England Minas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. New England Minas's Tony Pacheco got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jeremy Nicholas came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's Dagoberto Moraes. But to his dismay, Dagoberto Moraes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Jeremy Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Moraes in the 25th minute of play. Antonio Valente kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Edgardo Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Bernal having to interfere. Vahit Ergüç kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 34th match minute, New England Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Valente to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Silva in the 39th minute of play forced Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's goalkeeper Valentin Bernal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brandon Norton's late challenge caught a New England Minas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brandon Norton helped the player get up and apologised. Edgardo Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Bernal having to interfere. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgardo Silva made a kick off. Valentin Bernal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Edgardo Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Valentin Bernal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's Cayetano Monico was substituted for Igor Milko. Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's Luiz Paulo Dracena was substituted for Luiz Eduardo Albuquerque. New England Minas made a substitution. Tio Lio replaced Edgardo Silva. 70 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goalkeeper Jeremy Nicholas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dagoberto Moraes. If Oscar Nordmark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valentin Bernal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Nordmark in the 75th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Nordmark in the 80th minute of play forced Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's goalkeeper Valentin Bernal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Cayetano Monico came free, but Jeremy Nicholas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 87 minutes into the game, New England Minas's Tony Pacheco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valentin Bernal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. In the 96th minute Tony Pacheco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Bernal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
