Andy Cole's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelo Galvão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Hélio Goiano made in the 30th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Rubens Abreu immediately put the ball in play. After 31 minutes of play, Itajaí Football Club's Conrado Miranda made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Egun Pais was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcelo Galvão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andy Cole's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Floresta Negra FC's attentive Andy Cole managed to snatch the ball when Raí Rossi made a throw-in in the 36th minute of the game. Marcelo Galvão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andy Cole in the 39th minute of the match. Marcelo Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andy Cole, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 42 minutes into the game, Floresta Negra FC's Andy Cole nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcelo Galvão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andy Cole to make the kick off. Marcelo Galvão was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Andy Cole showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 53 minute of play. When Andy Cole came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Floresta Negra FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andy Cole couldn't finish the play. Floresta Negra FC's Egun Pais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Arce in the 60th minute of play. In the 67th minute Lokon Pøhl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 69th minute by Andy Cole got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a little luck, Itajaí Football Club's Marcelo Galvão got control of the ball when Jardel Lewandowski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hélio Goiano made in the 78th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Rubens Abreu immediately put the ball in play. After a rather tough play, Itajaí Football Club's Leonardo Varela got a free kick in the 79th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Floresta Negra FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
