Filippo Renzetti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ramon Simons read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Atletico Sweds's Ramon Simons threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wilhelm Sahlberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Stor Norling took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martijn Jol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Håkan Galle to make the kick off.
