Herberto Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Dolcet in the 5th minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, Quilmes's Ismael Dolcet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Herberto Abreu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ismael Dolcet might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Herberto Abreu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ismael Dolcet ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Nataniel in the 12th minute of play forced Red Bull Villenhallen's goalkeeper Herberto Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Red Bull Villenhallen's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Nataniel came free, but Herberto Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Red Bull Villenhallen's Herberto Abreu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Red Bull Villenhallen from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lucas Nataniel to strike the kick off in the second half.
