The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sandro Tróia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Vicente Berdoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Godofredo Rito charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Godofredo Rito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vicente Berdoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandro Tróia in the 8th minute of play. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Sandro Tróia sped through Halcones Azules's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vicente Berdoi. 16 minutes into the match, Halcones Azules's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Tróia came free, but Vicente Berdoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Renan Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Genaro Mendiko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30thth minute of the game Genaro Mendiko who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Catadão's Renan Mendonça was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Catadão's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Ekain came free, but Renan Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Márcio Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Genaro Mendiko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Halcones Azules's supporters rose to their feet, but Genaro Mendiko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Renan Mendonça breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nicasio Calvet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renan Mendonça having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Halcones Azules's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dráuzio França was slow to take the kick. During this time Catadão's players had a chance to rest. After 54 played minutes Catadão got a freekick which was hit by Ian da Costa. Dráuzio França struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Vicente Berdoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catadão. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sandro Tróia in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vicente Berdoi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd minute, Omar Ekain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dráuzio França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 78 minutes into the game, Sandro Tróia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Vicente Berdoi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Omar Ekain got free with Renan Mendonça in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 90 minutes, Sandro Tróia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catadão's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandro Tróia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Nicasio Calvet came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Halcones Azules fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicasio Calvet couldn't finish the play. Renan Mendonça made an important save on a dangerous shot by Omar Ekain in the 96th minute. Halcones Azules's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
