An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Winitzki in the 7th minute of play forced Hermosillo FC's goalkeeper Silvano Benat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvano Benat didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roman Biehlert went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joaquin Mano got free with Dariusz Wieberneit in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Joaquin Mano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hermosillo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquin Mano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dariusz Wieberneit breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 27 minutes, Stefan Winitzki mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academica Pulheim and the Hermosillo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Hermosillo FC booed when Academica Pulheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Winitzki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquin Mano hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the match, Hermosillo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Christoph Sönksen came free, but Silvano Benat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christoph Sönksen took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Silvano Benat. Silvano Benat dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 38th minute, Noel Schaffert left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Academica Pulheim fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Dariusz Wieberneit made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Eusebio Calvet sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Hermosillo FC's zone, Roman Biehlert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvano Benat came out of the goal and Roman Biehlert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Academica Pulheim's Michael Paziorek was substituted for Hadrian Greilinger. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joaquin Mano to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Hermosillo FC's goalkeeper Silvano Benat had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christoph Sönksen. After 54 minutes, Gustavo Lizar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hermosillo FC and the Academica Pulheim players grew even worse after the yellow card. But to his dismay, Michael Paziorek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. After a rather tough play, Academica Pulheim's Dominik Zintl got a free kick in the 91st minute. 94 minutes into the match, Hermosillo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Noel Schaffert came free, but Silvano Benat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 94 minutes of play, Academica Pulheim's Noel Schaffert made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Silvano Benat was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Hermosillo FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Academica Pulheim's performance. The match ended with a win for Academica Pulheim.
